Mr. and Mrs.

Luke and I attended our first wedding this past weekend since we tied the knot ourselves. It was nice to sit back and relax, and enjoy someone else's day. Congratulations to our friends Megan and Tim - their wedding was beautiful and tons of fun! Here are a few photos from the weekend...

And, yes, somehow we managed to coordinate our plaid outfits!

Yup, that's me with straight hair, and Luke looking like Elvis.

I loved the "gilded gold" look!

Yum...the beautiful wedding cake.

Our Wedding Photos - Gallery 20!

I have an exciting link to share with you today! Our photographer, Rob, has put a gallery of photos from our wedding up on his website. If you go here, click on 'galleries', then click '20' - you'll see that there are 4 pages of photos. He did a really great job - we're thrilled!

New Keg Designs!

Since the wedding (3 months ago now!) I've been working nonstop. I'm really excited to share all of my new creations with you...I just need to find the time to photograph them. My goal is to get a handful of new designs and cards on Etsy by the end of October. As always, I'm available for custom work, just email me at kelly@kegdesign.com.

Alfred Sung Paradise

I'm loving these bridal gowns from Alfred Sung's Paradise collection. They're whimsical and dreamy, and remind me a lot of designs by Jenny Packham and Reem Acra (two of my favorite designers!). I actually went wedding dress shopping with my good friend, and bride-to-be, Kim over the weekend. She found a beautiful gown from Sung's Signature collection - it's definitely on the top of her list!

Thanks, Dad!

If you're a regular reader of my blog, you know that my wedding day endured some bumps in the road, to say the least! By the time the ceremony began, I was so happy to be getting married and exhausted from the morning chaos, I actually didn't cry. Side note: I'm a huge sap, so I thought that I would totally break up during the vows, or the blessing of our hands...really, any part of it. But I didn't! The only time during the whole day that I got choked up was when my Dad gave his speech at the reception. It was so touching and so emotional - it was truly a special moment. I really have the best Dad ever! Our photographer, Rob, did an amazing job of capturing this moment, as well as many others throughout the night. The framed photos below feature some of my favorite moments with my Dad - he giving his speech and our father-daughter dance. I recently gave the frame to my Dad as a thank you gift. Love you, Dad.

Portrait Session

Hooray - it's Friday! I have a fun post for you guys today... the rest of the images from our portrait session. Cadence, the amazing photographer behind these gems, took our photos back in April at Union Station and the W Hotel in Chicago. We had planned to have an outdoor session, but the weather did not cooperate. I think my favorite shot is the one of our feet. Any thoughts? I'd love to hear from you...

Jump for Joy

Luke and I received the rest of the images from our impromptu portrait session we had back in April. I'll be sharing more of them with you throughout the week. Photo by Cadence.

Flower Fun-day

I took a brief break from posting about flowers on fridays, but I'm back today. Lately, I've been obsessed with boutonnieres...the fact that they're so small and cute, yet manly...I love the combination. The following photos, found on Brides Cafe, are amazing. The mini bird nests with feathers - awesome! What's even better, is the fact that the bride made the boutonnieres herself. And these two ring bearers below - they have to be the most stylish, rock'in kids I've ever seen! Happy weekend...

World's Finest...

Luke and I had the World's Finest wedding favors...literally! If you're from the Chicago area, you definitely know World's Finest Chocolate. They make those amazing chocolate bars, with and without almonds, that schools and organizations sell for fundraising purposes. Luckily, my aunt and godmother, Jojo, works at WFC and donated all of the bars for our wedding. I created the scroll design for the label and had them printed in black & white to coordinate with our wedding colors. My mom and aunt glued on the damask paper pieces and tied 200+ bows! Thanks, ladies! At the end of the reception, there was not an extra favor in sight - they were definitely a huge success. Thanks again Jojo, you're the World's Finest aunt!

dropping like flies...

It seems like everyone I know has been getting engaged lately - and I'm so pumped! One of my best friends, and recent bridesmaids, Kim, got engaged a few weeks ago. Her ring (below) is absolutely beautiful - I love it! Good job Jeff! Last week, Kim asked me to stand up in her wedding, which I was honored and excited to accept. They've set a date for next summer, and Kim has already picked out a great bridesmaid dress from J.Crew for all of us to wear. Congratulations Kim and Jeff - I'm so thrilled for you guys and I'm here to help in any way possible.

Her beautiful engagement bling!

Beer and BBQ

Happy Labor Day weekend! I hope everyone enjoys the beautiful weather we're having here in the midwest (because, who knows how long it's going to last?!). I came across these 'too cute for words' personalized BBQ and Hot Sauce bottles over at BeauCoup. If you're planning on celebrating your big day during one of the more traditional American summer weekends - Memorial Day, 4th of July or Labor Day - maybe think about bringing a twist of the grill into your theme?! Wishing everyone a fun and safe holiday...see you back next week!

one of my favorites...

I love this shot of my wedding shoes...my flats were very comfortable!
