Gilligan's Island

Thanks goes out to Lee over at LeeLeesCloset for including my "Nautical Save The Date" in her recent Etsy treasury collection. I thought the theme, Gilligan Would Like it Here, was super cute and creative. I was instantly drawn to the two pendant necklaces also included in the grouping. Check out these stores for some really cute jewelry items: Lauren Blythe Designs and Verbel + Fox.

Pretty Stuff

I was sifting through my Sitemeter last week and came across The Pretty Purveyor as a referring site. I was pleasantly surprised to discover such a great blog. A big thank you to Jennifer at TPP for linking to Keg Design. The Pretty Purveyor has been added to my daily read list, and it is definitely worth checking out. There is lots of pretty stuff! Here are some of my favorites:

Mac BookBook. I WANT ONE! PP's posting here.

Whiskey Stones; A perfect groomsmens gift! PP's posting here.

Hanger Tea; Why didn't I think of this?! PP's posting here.

Blog Love!

Melissa over at Chicago Girl Gone Mild recently nominated me for the "Sugar Doll" blog award. She also nominated Keg Design as a blog that brightens up her day for the "Happy 101" award. Thank you so much Melissa, I'm flattered. And same goes back to you!

Each award has it's rules, but because I'm swamped this week at work, I'm going to follow just a few: 1. Post the blog award(s) to your site 2. Share 10 interesting things about yourself. Here it goes...

1. I have a brother who is 9 years younger than me. There are no siblings in between.

2. I played sports growing up (volleyball, basketball, swimming, tennis, track) and I'm competitive. Okay, REALLY competitive.

3. I've been to Elba - a small island off the coast of Italy.

4. I'm a horrible singer. In the sixth grade my chorus leader asked me to lip sync...needless to say I never joined choir again!

5. I loved high school.

6. I'm a Cubs fan. I hope the White Sox lose (sorry, Melissa!).

7. I heart T.J. Maxx.

8. My parent's bought me a used Sunfire convertible for my 16th birthday. Three days later we returned it because the roof wouldn't stop leaking.

9. I'm addicted to gummy candy. Bears, worms...you name it, I'll eat it.

10. I hate to cook.

New on the scene...

Chicago brides-to-be (Terese and Katie) are blogging about their upcoming 2010 weddings...check 'em out:

Also, many thanks (although long overdue!) to the following bloggers for linking to Keg Design. It may have been many months ago, but I still appreciate it. Thank you!

Custom Calligraphy Stamp

I just came across this amazing GIVE AWAY over at Always a Bridesmaid, Never a Bridezilla. The "professional bridesmaid" has teamed up with Barbara Kua Calligraphy to offer this great give away. One lucky reader (ooh, I hope it's me!), will receive a customized calligraphy stamp for all of their addressing needs. This is the perfect solution for many of my clients, as they don't want to print labels for their wedding invitations, but they also don't have the kind of budget for a calligrapher. I would love to get one of these for myself...Luke and I are still trying to finish up our wedding thank you's and this would come in VERY handy!

Thank You, Beautiful Paper

Many, many thanks to Nole over at Beautiful Paper for featuring my wedding invitations on her site last week. I was so pleasantly surprised to see the post...it really made my day! Thank you!

New Blog & Vegas Ramblings

I love when I stumble upon a great wedding blog! I came across Diagnosis Deferred last week. Teresa, the creator behind the blog (and bride-to-be), writes great posts - and funny ones too! I was reminded of Diagnosis Deferred yesterday, when Teresa commented on my wedding invitations and left very kind words.

Like Teresa, I recently got back from my "bachelorette" weekend in Vegas. I couldn't have written my feelings about that town any better than Teresa did. I agree with all of her thoughts on Sin City...the smoking indoors (super gross!) and the never ending amount of bachelorettes with blow-up dolls and tiaras (annoying!). My girlfriends and I were also one of the only bachelorette groups who did not tote around any obnoxious things.

I might also add that Teresa posted about a super cool wedding cake idea...go here for more details. Overall, I'd have to say we're both on the same page...except maybe for the "greatest city in the world" part - my vote is for Chicago! I'll definitely be putting Diagnosis Deferred on my daily reader...and so should you! Here's a cute picture from my Vegas trip...

Thank You!

A big thanks to the following bloggers for putting Keg Design on their sites. Blog friends are always great! Please check them out:

Also, many thanks to Butterfly Petals and Lavish Memories for posting about Keg Design. As always, if you have a wedding, design or just really cool blog that you'd like me to feature, send me an email with your link and I'll check it out. I'm always more than flattered to find out if someone has something nice to say about my work too - so don't be a stranger!

Blog Love!

A special thanks to all of the wonderful bloggers who have shown me "blog love" this week. Amanda over at Vintage Glam was kind enough to do a 2-part post on Megan and Bryan's "Storybook" wedding (Part 1 & Part 2) I featured a few weeks ago. Check out the original KEG postings here and here. Also, a shout out to the following blogs for putting KEG on their site:

If you have a great blog or website related to weddings, design or anything wonderful, please contact me...I'd love to see your work. I'd also be more than happy to put you on my blog roll. And I welcome the same: please place KEG DESIGN on your site too...I'd be delighted!

A Big Thanks to Veiled Vows!

I'm still new to this whole "blog" world...and learning as I go. So far, the few "hellos" I've sent to some of my favorite fellow wedding bloggers have been kindly received. I wanted to send a special thanks to Emilia over at Veiled Vows & Auburn & Ivory for featuring some of my work and putting my blog on her site. Thank you! Please check out her blog(s) and amazing handmade jewelry on Etsy. Happy Friday!
