Southwestern Wedding Inspiration

I'm trying to catch up on my blogging this week... I'm taking inspiration from my trip to Scottsdale, and sharing some southwest-inspired wedding ideas. Please feel free to add to the list. If you recently had a "southwest" wedding, I'd absolutely love to feature some of your photos on Keg Design. Send images to kelly@kegdesign.com. Thanks!

Cactus Candy Singles $0.75 - Unique Wedding Favors!

The Bird's the Word

Happy turkey week! I hope everyone has a wonderful (and filling!) Thanksgiving. As always, the holidays inspire great wedding ideas and themes. I love candy apples...and I think they would make amazing wedding favors. Believe it or not, the above apples are actually fake - I couldn't believe it either. Image source here.

Dessert on a Stick!

It's like I just struck gold! Check out these amazing Cake Pops from Bakerella. Maybe I'm way behind the times, and everyone knows about these already, but they're so cute and so yummy looking. From cheesecake pops to mini cherry pies - I'm loving them all! I'm not much of a baker myself (actually I don't think I've ever even made chocolate chip cookies from scratch in my life), however I'd be willing to give these recipes a try. Wouldn't a personalized Cake Pop or Pie Pop be the perfect favor for your wedding? Really, the possibilities with these are endless...

World's Finest...

Luke and I had the World's Finest wedding favors...literally! If you're from the Chicago area, you definitely know World's Finest Chocolate. They make those amazing chocolate bars, with and without almonds, that schools and organizations sell for fundraising purposes. Luckily, my aunt and godmother, Jojo, works at WFC and donated all of the bars for our wedding. I created the scroll design for the label and had them printed in black & white to coordinate with our wedding colors. My mom and aunt glued on the damask paper pieces and tied 200+ bows! Thanks, ladies! At the end of the reception, there was not an extra favor in sight - they were definitely a huge success. Thanks again Jojo, you're the World's Finest aunt!

Beer and BBQ

Happy Labor Day weekend! I hope everyone enjoys the beautiful weather we're having here in the midwest (because, who knows how long it's going to last?!). I came across these 'too cute for words' personalized BBQ and Hot Sauce bottles over at BeauCoup. If you're planning on celebrating your big day during one of the more traditional American summer weekends - Memorial Day, 4th of July or Labor Day - maybe think about bringing a twist of the grill into your theme?! Wishing everyone a fun and safe holiday...see you back next week!

A Wedding at Brookfield Zoo

One of my dearest friends (and my recent MOH!), attended a wedding at Brookfield Zoo early last month. She took a few photos for me since she knows how excited I get about new (wedding-related) ideas. As you can see, the cocktail hour was outside with the giraffes and monkeys. Fun! The reception included details such as "grassy" centerpieces and animal cookie favors! Check out the unique menus too...

Hoppy Sunday!

Hope everyone had a great weekend and stuffed themselves silly with yummy foods and chocolate bunnies today! I love the pastel colors above - they would make wonderful spring wedding favors.

Real Wedding: Amanda & Dave (Part II)

More amazing photos and details from Amanda and Dave's elegant Arizona wedding. Amanda writes..."there were so many wonderful things that I was able to wear in my wedding day ensemble including amethyst earrings and a matching necklace from my husband, brother and sister-in-law. My veil had my Mom's lace from her wedding dress sewn into it. And my shoes were bright purple - I loved every second of it!"

"The resort was amazing. The service was phenomenal and we had zero complaints. It was fun for my niece and nephews with a lazy river and water slide. The guys enjoyed golfing the morning of the wedding while the girls were all getting pampered and ready!"

"The resort and small sized guest list was perfect for us. It allowed us to bring our families together in AZ to let them all see why we love it so much and why we've made this beautiful place our home for almost 5 years..."

"We had quite a few DIY projects involved in our wedding...and I had a ton of help from my family. The favors (below) were made by my mother. We framed pictures of our parents, grandparents and brothers & sisters from their wedding days and displayed them at the reception. The hanging votive candles in the trees at our ceremony were made by my sister."

Irish Wedding Favors

I'm definitely Irish... first name Kelly, middle name Erin. I think an Irish themed wedding would be tons of fun! Here are some fun ideas for Irish wedding favors:
