Engaging

I had some fun purusing the blogosphere this week to look for photo inspiration. A close friend of mine is having her engagement photos taken in a few weeks, so I thought it would be cool to share some inspiration with her. Here are just a few of the many great shots I found. I'm drawn to three main things when it comes to engagement photos: 1. setting/location 2. the couple's personal style and 3. the couple's chemistry. Oh, and of course it wouldn't be possible without a great photographer behind the lens! Have you recently taken engagement photographs or are you planning an upcoming session? I'd love to hear more about your experience and share some of your images on Keg Design.

All Together...

I recently started creating photo albums of my work on Keg Design's Facebook page. Check out all of my recent Save The Date designs here. And if you haven't done so yet, become a fan! Pretty, pretty please...

Ed Hardy Sangria

You're probably asking the same question as me...Ed Hardy, the clothing guy, sells Sangria? Yes! And liquor, wine, energy drinks and so on. Ed Hardy Beverages is apparently a booming business. I was definitely apprehensive at first. I bought a bottle of his Sangria at Cost Plus World Market awhile back and it's been sitting in the wine rack for months. Last night I decided to give it a shot. Surprisingly enough, it was good. Very, very good! The fresh strawberries added that extra touch...

You may have noticed by now that I don't post much about food or cooking. It's just not my thing. Don't get me wrong, I love to eat...I just don't love to cook. My Mom was (and still is) the same way...so I blame it mostly on her. I don't think I've ever baked cookies from scratch in my life!

Last night was one of those times that I got motivated to cook. And by "cook" I mean bake some fish, broil some asparagus and mix-up some salads. I don't do recipes. Too many ingredients, too many directions and too much time. I like to keep it simple and improvise when necessary. Dinner was delicious (or at least I thought so). I'm actually marinating some chicken breasts for dinner tonight...not sure what has gotten into me, but I'm sure next week will be all about the take-out! What have you been cooking lately?

Minty

Yah or nay on the mint colored nails? These babies came to work with me this morning, so I'm fully embracing them. I've only had a few "woah" comments so far. I'm not sure if I love or hate...I think the hue is definitely a spring trend. I don't think it will be around forever. Thoughts, comments, opinions...?

Five Dollar...

What's better than a five dollar footlong sandwich? A five dollar t-shirt, belt, sparkly tank or cute drinking glass. Check out Urban Outfitter's $5 sale online now. It won't last long...(no pun intended).

70's Charm

I L.O.V.E. this bride's look! Zena and Lance married in San Francisco this March. Olivia Leigh Weddings shot the event. I'm drooling over the photos just as much as the dress. Oh, and those flowers! It's 70's chic, but feels so effortless. Reminds me of my Mom's wedding day style a little bit. Dress by BCBG. More on Zena and Lance's wedding here.

Green Works

Recent branding development I did for a Chicago based contracting company specializing in the installation and maintenance of vegetated green roofs. I think it's amazing that you can construct and grow gardens on the top of city buildings...I wish I had one above me! Check out Rooftop Green Works for more information and some really amazing photographs.

Save The Date: Sarah & Patrick

I've been getting a lot of requests for "vintage-modern" designs lately. Sarah and Pat's Save The Date design was no exception. The couple wanted to incorporate one of their engagement photos, but didn't want another cookie cutter photo card. The end result is clean and simple with a vintage twist. The cards were printed on PS's Silver Shimmer cardstock & accompanied by A6 Beet envelopes lined with origami paper. Sarah backed each card with magnetic tape to insure guests would SAVE the date!
