Save The Date: Alison & Mike

In the running...

Here's a small sampling of the Save The Date designs I created for Alison and Mike. All of these were in the running, but in the end didn't make the final cut. My favorite designs are the top two pieces (ideally used as front and back of the same card). I absolutely love the peacock feather and would love to work with someone who wants a gorgeous wedding suite utilizing this motif. Anyone? Contact me if you're interested.

Max Wanger Inspiration

I thought I'd leave you guys with something pretty to look at on a Friday afternoon! Alison & Mike came to me late last year inquiring about doing a Save The Date design utilizing their engagement photos. Lucky for all of us, their photographer was the amazing Max Wanger. I got to choose from the following pics. Stay tuned next week to see the final design. It's beautiful! Oh, and...Go Bears this Sunday!

My New Purchases

Virginia Tech Save The Date

Kristen and Will contacted me last year after finding the Chicago Cubs Save The Date I created. They wanted to know if I could do the same for them... except Virginia Tech style? Of course! The final ticket design is below. Kristen and Will are big Hokie's fans and will be getting married this spring in VA. Contact me via email if you're interested in a college or pro custom ticket design.

Da Bears

Mel, over at Chicago Girl Gone Mild, contacted me late last year about designing a custom holiday card for her and her husband. She wanted something unique that portrayed the two of them, but didn't want to use an actual photograph. The solution? An illustration. Mel also wanted the card to embody the spirit of Chicago - hence the skyline and 1980's era Bears sweater. Who would have thought that a Chicago Bears 'themed' greeting card could look so sophisticated? HeHe! I have to admit, this project was a bit of a challenge for me. I'm not in the business of illustrating people on a daily basis, however, I think I pulled it off. It was definitely good practice for the next time someone asks me to render them on the computer. The final card design is below. I've also included the photo of Melissa and Sean that I used as inspiration. Whadda think? Also, check out what Mel had to say about the design on her blog. Go Bears!

Twenty Eleven

Happy New Year! I hope everyone enjoyed the holidays. I had two & a half weeks off from work to enjoy them... it was awesome! Coming back to the office this week was NOT. Here's a quick photo recap of my holidays (in no particular order). Hopefully 2011 will bring peace, health & happiness to all!
