Save The Date: Jillian & Mark

I created Jillian and Mark's custom Save The Date a few months ago. The couple sent out 4x6 postcards that incorporated a small black and white photo of themselves. The repeating copy on the front was customized for the couple with phrases such as "he proposed on the beach in Grand Cayman, she said 'yes'." Important words and dates were bolded for maximum impact.

Wrigley Field Save The Date

Always one of my favorites...the personalized Wrigley Field (Chicago Cubs) save the date postcard. Adela and Carlos ordered these last month for their September 2009 wedding. Each card was printed on a beautiful matte cardstock with full color front and black/white back. Since many of their guests will be coming from out of the country, I created the back of the postcard in a bilingual format. Go Cubs!

Save The Date: Christina & Dayne

Check out the new custom wedding logo and Save The Date design I just finished! Christina and Dayne are getting married in Chicago this fall, and wanted a design that reflected the Arts & Crafts period that is a huge part of Chicago's history, including many Frank Lloyd Wright homes.

Christina writes, My fiancé and I will be getting married at a loft space in Chicago this October and we hope to have an elegant, yet effortless and approachable event. For our invitations, we wanted to match the casual nature of our wedding and embody a feeling of "Chicago." So, we asked Keg Design to create an invitation design that captures the style of the Arts & Crafts period, which is highly prevalent in Chicago architecture and décor. With this inspiration in mind, Kelly did a fantastic job translating stained glass & ceramic tile motifs from this period into our invitation and save the date design. Ultimately, I think the end result achieves a very feminine, romantic feeling, while still remaining casual, understated, and masculine. And, to me as a Chicagoan, the design reminds me of home. Perfect!

Chicago Cubs Save The Date Postcard - Now on Etsy!

One of my current goals includes stocking up my Etsy store. It's not going to happen overnight, but I added a new item to the mix this weekend - the Chicago Cubs (Wrigley Field) customized Save The Date postcard. This item has been quite popular among Chicago brides. My last client got numerous calls from family and friends asking them when their names had been on the Wrigley sign (yeah for believable retouching!). Check out the Etsy posting for price and details.

Also, if you're not a Cubs fan, but like the digital sign/sports idea, custom designs are available. Send me a photo of the sign you want to use (Yankees, Red Sox, White Sox etc.) and we can discuss options.

More photos of the front, back and details of the Cubs design. I always urge my clients to take full advantage of the amazing postage options that are available. For this piece, a "Take Me Out To The Ball Game" stamp worked nicely. Other options include vintage stamps or making your own at Zazzle.

If you can't already tell, I'm a huge Chicago Cubs fan. Only 68 more days until opening day...this could be our year?!
